Incidence of coronary artery disease is increasing in Indian population. It is now no more the disease of old population.

We have definite cure of heart blockage in the form of bypass surgery or angioplasty both having specific indicators.
Conventional CABC was done using heart lung machine (used to stop the heart) & leg veins (saphenous veins) were used to do bypass.
Now we do bypass on beating heart apart from saphenous veins we use left and right internal mammary arteries & radial arteries (artery of hand).

Use of bilateral internal mammary arteries in the form of y (LIMA – RIMA – y) is state of the art operation. There is no scar on hand or leg.
Incidence of later blockage of these internal mammary arteries is vary minimal, making this LIMA RIMA y bypass surgery last for almost 20-25 years.
